Migori County begins purge on employees with fake certificates

The purge comes following a staff audit report that revealed that 93 county government employees are either having fake primary and secondary certificates.

Migori County Secretary Osca Olima confirmed that the 93 employees with fake certificates have already received show cause letter adding that they should appear before the Public Services board.

Olima said there are also 197 other staffs whose college certificates for colleges are questionable, adding that the certificates are being subjected to further scrutiny before action is taken.

The County Secretary said whoever will be found culpable of forgery will face legal actions.

A source indicates that some of the people affected by the purge are department heads in the county government of Migori.

Migori County government workers union secretary Silvance Araja said the union leadership is aware of the purge and some of their members with alleged fake academic papers have received the letters.

Araja said the affected persons will appear before the county public services board to defend their paper.
