The Meteorological
Department has warned that the ongoing rains are set to continue this week.
The seven-day
forecast for the period starting Monday to Sunday indicates the western parts
of the country, the Lake Basin region and parts of the Rift Valley including Narok,
Nakuru and West Pokot, amongst others, will continue to get intense rains with
thunderstorms.
Nairobi and
counties in central Kenya will also experience similar weather conditions.
The North-eastern
parts of the country as well as the Eastern counties will continue to receive
intense rains.
The coastal
counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale will be spared the
rainy conditions this week.
The Met Department
is also warning of further flooding and landslides in areas prone to this.
It is also
calling on drivers to be cautious as visibility on their roads will be hampered
by the heavy rains and strong winds.
