Massa Hamisi Salim appointed Acting DCI boss to replace George Kinoti

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has appointed Massa Hamisi Salim as the Acting Director Criminal Investigation (DCI).

The appointment of Senior Assistant Inspector General (SAIG) Massa Hamisi comes following the resignation of George Kinoti as the DCI boss.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the National Police Service Commission said Hamisi will occupy the seat until the position is filled substantively and competitively in at least 14 days.

The National Police Service Commission has since advertised a vacancy in the position of Director of Criminal investigations (DCI). 

The commission is mandated to recommend to the President persons for appointment as Director of Criminal Investigations.

Through its chairperson Eliud Kinuthia, the commission in a notice issued on Thursday invited interested candidates to send their applications to be considered for the position by midnight, Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Kinoti’s resignation was announced by President William Ruto as he unveiled his Cabinet nominees on Tuesday, September 27.
