Marsabit county vehicle swept away by flash floods

The occupants, who were part of a four-vehicle entourage, were however safely evacuated.

The other vehicles were from Unicef, the World Food Programme and the National Drought Management Authority.

There were a total of 25 people across the four vehicles, all of whom were evacuated.

In a statement by the Marsabit county government, it said, "Marsabit is experiencing exceptionally high rainfall, resulting in localised flash floods and challenging road conditions."
