Manhunt underway for 24-year-old suspect in lover’s murder, body dumped in septic tank

According to Mwea-East Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Jarso, the gruesome discovery was made by a housemaid while cleaning the toilets.
Upon noticing the body, she immediately informed her employer, who reported the matter to Wang’uru Police Station.
Investigators believe the suspect may have committed the crime last Thursday before disappearing. However, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. Detectives have stated that a forensic autopsy will be conducted to establish her identity.
"We are working swiftly to determine who the victim is because even the suspect’s father does not know her," said the police. "The suspect’s father, his wife, and three employees have already recorded statements at Wang’uru Police Station."
The suspect’s father, who appeared deeply distressed, revealed that his son had struggled with his education and had previously demanded a share of his business
"He did not complete his university studies. I have tried to take him to rehabilitation and counseling, but it has been in vain. And now, he has killed someone’s daughter and buried her in a septic tank located between my business premises and my homestead," he lamented.
Detectives confirmed they are working closely with the suspect’s father to apprehend him.
"I have been searching for him all day. I just want him arrested because I cannot even run my business in peace," the father added.
Meanwhile, residents of Ngurubani have strongly condemned the incident, expressing concern over the rising cases of femicide in the country.
"We want the suspect arrested immediately. His father is a hardworking man, but his son has brought him shame," said Jackson Maina, a resident of Ngurubani town.
Detectives continue their search for the fugitive as investigations unfold.
