A man suspected of killing two people following a dispute at Kibuye market in Kisumu County has finally been arrested four months after allegedly committing the act.

Oliver Ochieng Jaoko, also known as Olivert, is said to have hacked to death Evans Opiyo and Mohammed Saleh on July 1, 2024 after a disagreement over the control of proceeds from five washrooms at the market.

“Following this heinous act, Ochieng vanished into the shadows, evading capture,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said in a statement on Tuesday.

“A manhunt was launched, and acting on a tip-off, he was smoked out of his hideout in Manyatta area and apprehended.
