Man suspected of fleeing with girlfriend's child arrested in Migori

The suspect identified as Steve was arrested at one of the eatery within the town where he has been working as a waiter.

The police confirmed that the suspect is now in their custody waiting to be handed over to the police from Kisumu.

Awendo sub-county community policing chairperson Joseph Opole said his team managed to arrest the suspect and handed him over to the police together with the child aged two years.

Opole said they have been looking for the suspect for the past week after they got information that he works within Awendo town.

The suspect allegedly claimed that the child he escaped with belonged to his girlfriend who he wanted to marry but the lady has not been ready.
