Man arrested over murder of woman in Rarieda

Chief Habil Obago had reported to Ndori police station that there was a murder incident within his area before officers from that station visited the scene and found the woman lying dead.   

According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, it was established that the deceased, who has been identified as Everline Achieng Ogonyo, had been attacked on Friday night by one Robert Ouko who hit her using a club. 

He stated that even though the motive behind the woman’s murder has not yet been established, the suspect was arrested and is being held at Aram police station pending prosecution.

The County police boss stated that the scene was processed and the body of the woman which had bruises on the hands, back and an open wound on the left side of the forehead was moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary to await postmortem as investigations continue into the matter.
