Man arrested on suspicion of beating brother to death in Baringo
According to police reports, Mr. Lang'at Kosgey, the area assistant chief of Seretunin Sub-location, reported the murder to the station.
He received a distress call from a colleague at 1 a.m., informing him of a fight between two brothers on their property.
The chief rushed to the scene, expecting to break up the fight, but instead discovered one adult male from the Tugen community dead in a pool of blood.
While confirming the incident, Baringo Central OCPD Enrico Telewa Lyomu stated that police officers from Seretunin rushed to the scene.
It was discovered that the deceased, Kevin Kimuge Chesire, 23, had a deep cut wound at the back of his head with blood oozing out.
Police managed to comb the area after the incident and arrest the main suspect, Samuel Chesire Amdany, aged 28.
The body has been moved to Baringo County Referral Hospital Mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
Police also recovered the murder weapon, believed to be a club (rungu) with bloodstains, from the scene and kept it as evidence.
Samuel Chesire Amdany, 28, was arrested and is currently being held in Kabarnet police custody pending his arraignment in Kabarnet Law Courts on Monday.
