Man arrested after 12-year-old schoolgirl defiled twice within hours in Mombasa

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the pupil stood at a bus stop heading to school in the morning when Anthony Jakaa Muganda offered her a ride posing as a kind-hearted stranger.

“In a horrifying betrayal of trust, he diverted from the path to her school and took her to his home, where he subjected her to unspeakable violations,” the investigative agency said on Tuesday.

Muganda threatened the girl into silence and dropped her back at the bus stop, police said.

In a further tragic turn of events, another man identified as Reginald Wamalwa noticed the distressed schoolgirl at the bus stop, took her to his house, and defiled her again.

“He then escorted her to the police station, pretending to report the first child predator (Muganda), only for the girl to bravely disclose that he, too, had violated her,” DCI said.

Wamalwa was arrested on the spot and arraigned before the Shanzu Law Courts.

Detectives had since been hunting for Muganda and said they trailed him to Nyanchwa, Kisii town, where they arrested and escorted him back to Mombasa.

He was due to be arraigned at the Shanzu Law Courts on Tuesday.
