Man, 36, dies by suicide after allegedly crashing father’s car in Nakuru

A middle-aged man on Tuesday, November 19, died by suicide after crashing his father's vehicle along Molo-Keringet road in Nakuru County. 

According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, Bethwel Kiptoo feared for his life after crashing his father's Nissan X-trail, which had sustained damages as a result of the accident.

The 36-year-old is said to have fled to a nearby maize farm, ripped his shirt, and hung himself from a small cypress tree using the torn piece of cloth.

Nearby residents discovered his body dangling from a tree and reported it to the police.

OCS Keringet and detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) responded quickly to the scene and documented the events.

No suicide note was recovered beside the body. 

The detectives transferred Kiptoo's body to Olenguruone Sub-County Mortuary pending postmortem examination.
