Maendeleo ya Wanawake asks Governor Kihika, Senator Karanja to embrace dialogue
The group took issues with the manner in which the two leaders were addressing their issues that is putting them in bad light.
Led by Maendeleo ya Wanawake Nakuru County representative Margaret Nwowoi, the women expressed their displeasure in the manner in which Kihika and Karanja have been attacking each other on the War Memorial hospital standoff.
The women argued that Nakuru, being one of the county that has many elected women has proved to the world that a woman is equally up to the task in political leadership.
Nwowoi called on the leaders to stop attacking each other in public forums and instead consult each other on key issues.
Pauline Wambui, the group’s treasurer implored the senator to go slow on her public attacks to the governor and instead show leadership by engaging her directly.
On her part, Beatrice Wanjiku cautioned the leaders against reckless conduct and public utterances adding that they risk losing public good will for themselves and the younger generation of women leaders.
The statements by the women group comes in the wake of Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja call for impeachment of Nakuru county governor Susan Kihika.
