Learning, Form One admission exercise disrupted after parents storm school in Homa Bay

Parents hold demos at the gate of at St. Stephen Kirindo Mixed secondary School in Homa Bay

Learning operations and Form One admission process at St. Stephen Kirindo Mixed Secondary School in Suba North constituency of Homa-Bay County were paralysed on Monday morning after outraged parents stormed the institution.

The parents accused the school principal of mismanagement of school resources, poor performance and embezzling school development funds.

Fearing the wrath of the parents, the principal remained at home. At the school entrance, parents demanded the principal’s immediate transfer, saying the school has been attaining a low grade of C minus and below since he joined the school.

The parents led by James Nyauke want the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to transfer Mr. Simon Ochieng to another school, failure to which they will not enrol their children in the institution.

Citizen Digital reached out to Mr. Ochieng’, who declined to comment on the parent’s allegations saying the matter is being handled by Mbita Sub County education office.

Form One students, who were scheduled to report to the learning institution today failed to show up at the school as other learners accompanied parents in their match to the Sub-county education office.
