'Kuna watoto wa kwanza kuangaliwa!' Gachagua sustains Gov't shareholding remarks
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has again
brought up the political shareholding narrative, saying the Kenya Kwanza
administration will prioritize Kenyans who voted for it in the distribution of
government employment slots and development projects.
Gachagua
spoke in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County, where he led other government
officials to a church service and thereafter a fundraiser at Kurgung Boys High
School.
He
called on the people of Nandi County to remain patient as the State works on
development projects and employment opportunities that would prioritise Kenya
Kwanza supporters.
“Rais
yuko pale, mimi niko hapo, huyu Felix ako hapo, Rais mnamjua, mimi mnanijua
yenu tumepanga,” he said.
His
remarks were similar to the last time he sparked public debate by hinting at
preferential treatment for Kenyans who voted for the government.
He
added: “Mambo iko sawa. Chakula iko jikoni, karibu kuiva.
watoto wake?”
DP
Gachagua also outlined measures the government plans to take to curb the
illicit brew menace in the country.
“Na
wiki inayokuja tutatangaza hatua kali tutakayo chukua, na ile maneno tumepanga,
hii watu wanauza pombe haramu watahama hii nchi. Watahama hii Kenya.
Tutatangaza,” he stated.
Other
Kenya Kwanza leaders spoke about the government’s priority agenda items.
said the National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
