KNUT inks deal for members reduced tuition with Kibabii University

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Kibabii University have signed a deal that will see teachers enjoy discounted.

In a ceremony attended by KNUT chairman Mudzo Nzili and Secretary General Wilson Sossion, the university agreed to admit teachers at a 15 per cent discounted rate as compared to other students.

Speaking at the ceremony Kibabi University Vice Chancellor Prof Ipara Odeo noted that the deal will see the quality of education in the country increase tremendously.

“…This MOU is meant to give opportunities to members of KNUT who wish to continue with their further studies. We all know that majority of students particularly those enrolled on part time programmes or what used to be school based programmes are teachers and are members of KNUT.” Noted the VC

On his part, Sossion acknowledged that: “This is a milestone in improving the capacity of teachers across the country. It will also lead to quality teaching in our schools.”
