Kisumu man killed in dispute over wheelbarrow

The deceased assaulted using crude weapons by his alleged assailant identified as Ford Rakwach.

Kisumu East sub county police boss Edward Masivo has confirmed the incident saying the suspect fled Orongo village and is being actively traced.

The deceased had gone to pick his wheelbarrow from the assailant’s home to carry out some work in the village, a move that angered Rakwach.

Police say the deceased had in the past been contracted by the suspect to help in building a house and had left his wheelbarrow at the accused’s home.

However, when he went and picked the wheelbarrow over the weekend, the assailant followed him up to his home and descended on him with crude weapons.

Edward sustained multiple injuries on his head and succumbed to death after he had been rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) for medical attention.
