Kisii Central police boss Saimon Gababa found dead in his car
Kisii Central police boss Saimon Gababa has been found dead inside his car outside at his home in Milimani area.
A police report seen by Citizen Digital said the OCPD called a driver, Corporal Abel Ondora, on Saturday morning.
“He received a phone call telling him that he should rush to the residence because the OCPD was felling unwell and could not drive himself to hospital,” the report reads.
Upon arrival, the driver is said to have found the OCPD unconscious inside his personal car.
Dr. Arthur Nyabunga from RAM hospital later arrived at the scene and confirmed that the police boss was dead.
According to the police report, the OCPD had fallen ill on December 17 and sought medical assistance at RAM hospital.
He was however discharged in stable condition.
The next day, he led a team of officers to provide security at the burial of the late Engineer Barnabas Ariga.
According to his junior officers, the OCPD had been communicating with them through phone calls and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
The cause of death is yet to established but police have launch investigations to ascertain what led to his death.
The body has been moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
