Kirinyaga man speaks out after genitals chopped off over Ksh.50 debt dispute

Jepither Muthii speaks to Citizen TV from his Kerugoya County Referral Hospital bed after a major surgery.

A day after chaos rocked Kutus market sparked by an incident where a middle-aged man's genitalia was chopped off by a local butcher over Ksh.50 demand, the victim Jepither Muthii narrated his ordeal at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital after a major surgery at the facility.

Muthii is still reeling in pain after undergoing a scrotum reconstruction surgery within the facility. He is lying helpless on the hospital bed with tears flowing down his cheeks is lucky to be alive.

He narrated the Friday ordeal when he went to ask for his balance of Ksh.50 after working for the main suspect, Isaac Gachoka. Instead, Gachoka stabbed him several times in his genitals, inexplicably angry.

“Jamaa alinivuta kwa nguvu ndani akaanza kuniumiza sehemu ya chini hadi ikatokana yote,” narrated Muthii.

With the pain still very much a reality after surgery, Muthii is not sure whether he will ever walk out of this facility as the bills continue to pile.

Jane Muchoki, a nurse at the hospital, said: “He came to this facility with serious wounds and after operation we have managed to rectify the scrotum, there was a cut at the scrotum exposing the testis, for now his genitals are safe.”

“Mwenye alinifanyia hivyo naomba atafutwe ndio akuje anilipie bill sababu sina uwezo,” Muthii added.

On Friday evening, chaos rocked kutus market as angry residents engaged police in running battles.

The locals flattened the main suspect's business premises amid calls for justice.

A multi-agency team has since been deployed to pursue Gachoka who has since gone into hiding.
