Kirinyaga: Driver parks car by roadside to buy fuel, finds it in river

A driver who on Sunday
left his car by the roadside near Kiamutugu Shopping Centre in Kirinyaga County
to buy fuel was shocked to find the vehicle in River Nyamindi.
Josephat Muriithi said four people hired him to take them to Gachara Primary School's football
grounds in Gichugu in his Toyota Probox.
Upon reaching Nyamindi
bridge near Kiamutugu, he found out he had run out of fuel and parked the car
by the roadside.
“After I bought the
fuel, I was shocked to see my vehicle in River Nyamindi as residents raised
alarm thinking somebody was injured,” he said.
Muriithi, who had left
the four people inside his car, said he suspects they interfered with it.
“My customers were
nowhere to be found when that happened,” he narrated.
Police said nobody was
injured as the four escaped before the vehicle plunged into the river.
