Kidero heads to court to challenge Gladys Wanga’s win in Homa Bay gubernatorial race
Homa Bay gubernatorial candidate Evans
Kidero has vowed to challenge his opponent Gladys Wanga’s win in the General
Election.
According to Kidero, he will be seeking a legal redress in court over the just declared governorship results.
"We will follow what the law says where you are not satisfied with election," he said.
"The win was illegitimate. We won. Violence was metted at our people, Form 37As were changed from original ones to replaced ones, a lot of illegalities and election malpractices occurred and I do not recognize that win. The will of Homabay people has been subverted, it has not been respected, they voted for me," Kidero added.
The results announced by IEBC on Friday
morning showed that ODM's Gladys Wanga had clinched the seat after garnering 244,059 votes.
On the other hand,
Kidero, who was contesting on an Independent ticket emerged second with 152,182
votes.
Wanga led in seven out of eight constituencies in the county, while Kidero led in Homa Bay Town constituency with a 2,000 vote margin.
