The young man, who appears to be in his late teens, is seen burying his face in a woman's clothing as he cries and gesticulates, appearing to silently protest mistreatment by Nairobi 'Kanjos' after they confiscated his wares and spilled them across the ground as crowds watched.
The undated video, which shows a crowd gathering around the distressed boy, has angered many Kenyans online with some even enquiring about the boy's identity in a bid to help him.
Some have also called upon the Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to swing to action and instill some discipline in his errand boys.
Susan Mang'eni, the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises also chimed in, asking people to help her find the young man who she described as a 'hustler' whose livelihood had been 'detrimentally impacted.'
"Dear compatriots, I implore your assistance in locating this hustler whose endeavors and livelihood have been detrimentally impacted!" she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
On his part, content creator Philip Mccloude lamented the young man's inhumane treatment, saying the incident was distressing.
"Eeiihh Bro @SakajaJohnson hata kama lazima iwork....humanity is free of charge! The most painful video I have watched today!" he wrote.
While agreeing with Philip, one user commented saying, "Ai @SakajaJohnson kama amekosea si apelekwe kortini jameni? Sasa nyinyi wajinga aje mwaharibu hadi evidence. Now how do you prove that the boy had the njugus with him?"

Philip's tweet, which has been viewed by over 340k people, appears to have galvanised Kenyans on X, many of whom have lambasted Sakaja's office and roundly censured city Kanjos for their cold brutality and callousness.
Incidences involving Nairobi 'kanjos' have been rampant lately with many viral videos trending online showing various unsavoury altercations between the City Hall men and regular Kenyans.
Just recently, Tiktoker Gloria Ntazola hit national headlines after she drove around a rogue 'kanjo' in her car as she attempted to teach him a lesson for forcing himself into her car and accusing her of non-existent crimes.
Another video of Kanjo officers harassing persons living with disability along a street in the CBD also caused national uproar, with Sakaja being forced to comment on and condemn the wanton savagery.
