Kenyan gospel DJ and producer DJ Lifa has
reached a monumental milestone, amassing 100 million career streams across
platforms, a feat he describes as “humbling evidence of God’s power.”
Known for his soul-stirring praise mixes
that blend Kenyan hymns with international worship anthems, his music has
become a global beacon of hope, touching listeners from Nairobi to Atlanta.
Lifa’s journey is one of faith and purpose.
“Every mix is prayed over. The Holy Spirit is my producer,” he says,
emphasizing his commitment to spiritual integrity over chasing trends.
“My
audience is global, so I curate music that connects hearts whether from
Nairobi, Lagos, or Kingston,” Lifa explains.
He adds, "I may explore new sounds,
global gospel trends, and production techniques to keep things fresh, but I
never compromise on the spiritual foundation. The goal isn’t to entertain; it’s
to edify, inspire, and lead people closer to Christ."
Reflecting on the milestone, Lifa remains
grounded. “This isn’t just about numbers. It represents lives impacted, hearts
encouraged, souls healed, and the lasting hope the gospel brings,” he shares.
"I’m deeply grateful that millions
have chosen music that edifies and draws them closer to God.”
While local gospel influences anchor his
work, he skilfully weaves in global sounds to keep his mixes fresh yet
uncompromisingly faith-driven. “I rely on God’s direction for every creative
decision,” he says. “Sometimes, I wait months or even years for His leading,
but that’s what keeps the music spiritually uplifting and culturally relevant.”
Looking ahead, Lifa is preparing to release
a collaborative gospel album in the coming year, a project he says aligns with
God’s calling for this new season.
"I’m working on releasing a music
album with other artists in the coming year. That’s where God has been leading
me lately, and I’m excited to step into this new creative season," he
says.
Alongside this, he’s launching a mentorship drive to nurture aspiring gospel DJs. “This isn’t about me it’s about raising Kingdom ambassadors,” he declares, determined to multiply his impact and leave a legacy that glorifies God.
