Kenyan delegation in Egypt to woo investors to put money into Homa Bay
A delegation from Kenya will be part of the
12th World Urban Forum in Cairo, Egypt starting Monday.
The team is led by Oyugis municipality
manager Sigar Agumba in the convention bringing countries across the world
together, where leaders of medium cities will be exchanging ideas on how to
develop their local towns.
Agumba said the Kenyan team will use the
world exchange program to invite potential investors to local municipalities to
tap into the existing areas of interest.
“This trip will benefit not just the Oyugis
municipality but Homa Bay County at large. I seek to convince global investors
to visit Oyugis so that we can spur development,” he said.
The forum is organized by the UN-Habitat and
runs through November 8.
It will also discuss widely the effects of
climate change mitigation and adaptation resilience.
