Kenyan company Eco Nasi semi-finalist in ‘Go Green with Taiwan’ competition
The ‘Go Green with
Taiwan’ initiative has announced its prestigious competition's top three global
winners.
The project was launched
by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External
Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
Kenyan company Eco
Nasi has emerged as a semi-finalist in the competition, showcasing their
innovative approach to sustainable fashion.
While the company did
not make it to the final three, Eco Nasi's proposal stood out among 396
submissions from 45 countries, highlighting Kenya's commitment to environmental
sustainability and innovation.
Each of the three winning
proposals will receive a top prize of $20,000.
Cynthia Kiang,
Director General of the International Trade Administration under Taiwan’s
Ministry of Economic Affairs, emphasised the importance of global collaboration
in promoting sustainable green industries.
She highlighted the
creativity of proposers worldwide, including those from Kenya, in combining
Taiwanese sustainable green products and solutions.
Simon Wang, President
& CEO of TAITRA, expressed his admiration for the innovative proposals
submitted, noting that the probability of being selected as one of the top six
finalists was merely 1.5%.
He acknowledged the
support of international allies, including Kenya, in promoting the project and
working together to protect our planet.
‘Go Green with Taiwan’ is a global proposal campaign that invites creative minds worldwide to develop meaningful and innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
By encouraging participation from individuals, social institutions, and non-governmental organisations, the campaign seeks to showcase Taiwan's technological advancements and promote collaborative efforts to address global challenges.
