The ‘Go Green with Taiwan’ initiative has announced its prestigious competition's top three global winners.

The project was launched by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

Kenyan company Eco Nasi has emerged as a semi-finalist in the competition, showcasing their innovative approach to sustainable fashion.

While the company did not make it to the final three, Eco Nasi's proposal stood out among 396 submissions from 45 countries, highlighting Kenya's commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation.

Each of the three winning proposals will receive a top prize of $20,000.

Cynthia Kiang, Director General of the International Trade Administration under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, emphasised the importance of global collaboration in promoting sustainable green industries.

She highlighted the creativity of proposers worldwide, including those from Kenya, in combining Taiwanese sustainable green products and solutions.

Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, expressed his admiration for the innovative proposals submitted, noting that the probability of being selected as one of the top six finalists was merely 1.5%.

He acknowledged the support of international allies, including Kenya, in promoting the project and working together to protect our planet.

‘Go Green with Taiwan’ is a global proposal campaign that invites creative minds worldwide to develop meaningful and innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

By encouraging participation from individuals, social institutions, and non-governmental organisations, the campaign seeks to showcase Taiwan's technological advancements and promote collaborative efforts to address global challenges.
