Kenya to push for "polluters to pay more" in COP29 summit
"We in Kenya strongly believe that polluters should pay more...that is our position at Cop29." He said.
PCS Musalia Mudavadi who alongside Environment CS Aden Duale will be holding bilateral engagements with climate change players in Azerbaijan says the concern now is how to have polluters accept to bear the costs of managing their pollution so as to prevent damage to human health and the environment.
Although the principle of 'polluter pays' is widely accepted in theory, it hasn't been put into practice or even enforced, according to climate change activists.
Other government delegations expected include Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi, Lands CS Alice Wahome, and Public Service CS Justin Muturi.
