The spouse of the deputy president on Thursday hosted clergy from different churches for prayers and end-of-year thanksgiving service at the National Altar which is located in the official residence of the Deputy President in Karen.

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi thanked everybody who played a role in ensuring that her vision of dignifying the vulnerable was achieved.

She was quick to point out that it was through prayers that Kenya can stand despite many challenges that Kenyans are facing.

“It has been very difficult even for the president to be still, but by the prayers you have offered, and knowing that this God cannot change his council, he has stood and continued to tell us ‘mbele iko sawa’," said Pastor Dorcas.

She added: "Sometimes he says and I just laugh because of the way he is bombarded by everyone, negative news, negative social media, and then you meet this president who knows you must let go and not God and he says ‘mbele iko sawa’.  And I can tell you Kenya is in a good place.”

The spouse of the deputy president vowed not to keep quiet against LGBTQ, pointing out that the Bible and the Constitution of Kenya do not allow same-sex marriages.

Pastor Dorcas urged the clergy to accommodate the drug-addicted boys to their churches and help rehabilitate them from drugs.

She noted that drug peddlers are bribing the addicted boys not to leave the drug dens but she has reiterated that she won’t give up on fighting the drugs and substance abuse.

Also present were archbishop Athar Kitonga of Redeemed Gospel church, Pius Muiru of Maximum Miracle Center, Secretary General of PCEA church Robert Waihenya and Lucy Wangunjiri of Prayers Beyond Boundaries Ministry.
