Kenya-Ghana Cooperation Marks Milestone in Bilateral Relations - Mudavadi

The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for
Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has lauded the long-enduring bond between Kenya and Ghana saying the 3-day State Visit by
President William Ruto to Ghana that begins on Tuesday is a testament of
the growing partnership between the two nations.
Speaking
earlier today during the 2nd session of the Kenya-Ghana Joint Permanent
Commission for Cooperation (JPCC), in Accra, Mudavadi reaffirmed
Kenya’s commitment to exploring potential avenues of shared interests to
expand the relations further.
“Kenya
and Ghana's historical ties can be traced back to the pre-independence
era, characterized by a shared struggle for self-rule and independence.
The spirit of Pan-Africanism drove both nations as they drew inspiration
from each other's liberation movements," he said.
The
Prime CS added that several bilateral frameworks of cooperation have
been signed in crucial areas such as agriculture, information
technology, trade, transport, tourism, technical vocational education,
and energy, demonstrating the commitment to broadening and deepening
collaboration.
On her
part, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional integration, Hon.
Shirley Ayorkor expressed her unwavering commitment to working closely
with Dr. Mudavadi to solidify the long-standing relations between Ghana
and Kenya.
“Today we
write a new chapter of our bilateral relations, one characterized by
mutual respect, understanding and cooperation. The commercial exchange
between our two countries has witnessed a remarkable surge, indicative
of the robust growth trajectory in our bilateral economic relations. It
is gratifying to observe that our collaborative efforts have yielded
results that are both substantial and satisfying," she added
President
William Ruto is set to start a 3-day State Visit to Ghana on Tuesday,
with a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) poised for signing.
During this visit, the President will deliver a keynote address at a
joint business forum, convening investors from both nations to explore
avenues of mutual growth and cooperation.
