Kenya’s coffee industry is set to take centre stage as ARABIKA Coffee Day 2025 approaches. Scheduled for March 14 at the E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center in Nairobi, the event will bring together farmers, industry experts, policymakers, and investors to discuss the future of Kenya's coffee sector.
Under the theme "The Future of Coffee: Sustainability, Quality, & Market Trends," the event will address pressing industry issues, including climate change, cooperative governance, and market expansion.
With Kenya renowned for its high-quality coffee, stakeholders are keen to tackle challenges such as price fluctuations, an ageing farming population, and limited global market access.
A key initiative supporting the sector is the ARABIKA Project, a partnership between the Governments of Kenya and Italy, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). Since its inception in 2021, the project has worked with smallholder farmers to boost production, improve branding, and expand market opportunities.
Notable achievements under the ARABIKA Project include modernized coffee tasting labs to ensure quality control and consistency, farmer training programs to enhance productivity and efficiency, brand development with seven new Kenyan coffee brands in the registration process, and market expansion efforts, showcasing Kenyan coffee at global events such as the Nairobi International Trade Fair, SIGEP in Italy, World of Coffee in Copenhagen, and AFCA in Tanzania.
The event will feature expert discussions on sustainable farming, cooperative management, and branding strategies, networking opportunities for farmers, exporters, traders, and policymakers, innovation showcases highlighting advancements in coffee processing and production, and recognition of industry milestones, celebrating achievements in training, branding, and international market penetration.
ARABIKA Coffee Day 2025 provides a platform for key industry players to collaborate, exchange insights, and explore strategies for a more sustainable and resilient coffee sector.
