KCPE and KPSEA results to be released before Christmas, says Education PS Belio Kipsang
This he said on Wednesday while giving a brief on the three-day national examination exercise, where he lauded all parties involved for ensuring a seamless exercise.
Kipsang asserted that the marking exercise starts immediately and all priority will be given to completing the marking exercise ahead of the set deadline.
"All has gone well. I would want to thank our teachers first for the good work, our colleagues from the interior, TSC, security teams, and all the other teams who have worked with us," he said.
A total of 2.6 million candidates were undertaking the examinations and PS Kipsang asserted that the ministry will ensure that nobody will be left out in the transition to the next education level.
About 1.4 million candidates undertook their KCPE exams and about 1.2 million did the KPSEA exams (Grade 6).
"This year we had a minimal number of pregnancies, the empowerment we are giving to our parents is yielding fruit. We are happy that we are reducing this menace of teenage pregnancies," he said assessing the isolated cases during the 2023 examination cycle.
This year's cohort was the last to undertake the KCPE to pave way for the full implementation of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) in primary schools which will now see students undertaking KPSEA examinations.
