Mbui said Kenyans will be keen on the happenings in the National Assembly this month, taking stock of those who will not stand with them amid tough economic times.
“Kenyans will not be making noises, they will be taking stock for those people who vote against them those people who make their life unbearable those people who make them unable to put food on the table and in a few years they will vote them out,” he said during Citizen TV DayBreak show on Monday.
The MP expressed disappointment with the precedent remarks made by some section of Members of parliament who insist on voting for the bill despite a clear decry from the public.
“I have heard a few have been very clear…you heard the whip (Sylvanus Osoro) said that they will pass this whether we like it or not…a number of them have made comments to the extent that they would do what the President is saying which is unfortunately very wrong,” he said.
Mbui said 90 per cent of the public, through memoranda as well as presentation to the parliamentary committee, have rejected the proposed Finance Bill.
He further added that public participation views and contributions should be handled with consideration and not ignored.
“If the voters are telling you do not hurt us anymore, why would you go to vote in support? So I am just urging my colleagues in Kenya Kwanza let us vote with our conscience you know we are going through harsh economic times we cannot punish Kenyans any further.”
