Kahawa West police officer arrested for demanding Ksh.50K bribe to withdraw court case

A police officer based at Kahawa West Police Station has
been arrested for demanding Ksh.50,000 to withdraw a criminal case from court.
Police Constable Christine Nyokabi Macharia was arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers on Monday.
EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed the incident saying that Nyokabi was detained at Kilimani Police Station and presented at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for processing on Tuesday.
The suspect has since been grilled and recorded a statement awaiting arraignment.
