Jipange Na Viusasa: Nakuru winner 'refuses' to collect Ksh.100,000 prize

George won Ksh.100,000 on December 20, 2023 – after participating in the Jipange Na Viusasa promotion.

A subsequent call to his number on December 21, announcing him as the lucky daily winner of Jipange Na Viusasa Promotion did not melt his heart.

A follow-up SMS to his mobile phone number – properly announcing him as the winner only seemed to plant more doubts in his heart.

According to Viusasa, there has been no attempts by the winner to collect the Ksh100,000.

As stipulated in the law – Viusasa will have to rerun the December 20th draw – and pick a new winner on Monday, January 15, 2024.

This technically means that George will have to shake hands with the Ksh100,000.

“We have never really experienced a situation where winners refuse to collect their prizes. A few will be hesitant because of rampant cases of online fraud, but they usually come around after we call and talk to them,” said Viusasa office.

“The Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) advised us to send George an ultimatum SMS, which we did. However, he has refused to present himself to our offices, or share important details to allow us process his payment,” noted Viusasa.

The final message sent to George read:

“Jambo Bw. George, Ujumbe huu ni wa kukufahamisha kwamba unafaa kutuma copy ya kitambulisho chako leo, 12.01.2024 kabla ya saa nane mchana. Usipo, itatubidi kuchagua mshindi mwingine. Tumejaribu kukufikia mara kumi na tano tangu 20.12.2023. Tumepiga kutumia namba zetu za ofisi na pia tukatuma msimamizi wetu wa ofisi za Nakuru. “So, we will run a fresh draw to pick another winner,” noted Viusasa.

Jipange Na Viusasa promotion began on September 26, 2023 and ended on December 31, 2023.

A total of 96 participants each won Ksh. 100,000 awarded daily. The weekly draw produced 13 winners; each pocketing Ksh. 500,000.

The grand winner of Ksh.3 Million in the Jipange Na Viusasa promotion will be officially announced this week.

The promotion was meant to enhance Viusasa customer experience.
