Isaac Mwaura appointed government spokesperson

Mwaura will be deputized by Ms. Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma

The appointments which take effect immediately were announced on Wednesday evening by the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

Prior to the appointment as Government spokesperson, Mwaura had been nominated by President Ruto to serve as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

He was yet to assume the CAS position following the court ruling that suspended the CAS nominations.

The government spokesperson position was left vacant after Colonel (Retired) Cyrus Oguna who had served in the position from May 2019, resigned in October 2022, to take up the position of Chief of Staff for Siaya Governor James Orengo.
