During a visit to evaluate the progress of key national government projects in Kuria, the PS highlighted the negative impact of the instability in the region, which has led to both underdevelopment and widespread destruction of property.
Omollo emphasized the government’s commitment to extending development initiatives to remote areas of the county, insisting that they will not be intimidated by the ongoing clashes.
The PS was accompanied by Migori County Governor Ochillo Ayacko and Senator Eddy Okech, who both called for an immediate ceasefire to end the decade-long ethnic conflicts.
Governor Ayacko pointed out that numerous lives have been lost and many families displaced due to long-standing land disputes.
He called for a lasting solution as such tensions are hindering the region’s development.
The PS further reaffirmed the national government’s dedication to improving infrastructure, increasing access to water, and driving broader development across the country.
