Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has asked Mt. Kenya residents to ignore his impeached predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua.
Addressing a gathering at his Irunduni rural home in Tharaka Nithi County, Kindiki took a swipe at his impeached predecessor, cautioning the latter against dragging him into unnecessary political battles.
He dismissed such confrontations as mere distractions, saying he has no time for them as he remains focused on serving the nation.
"Naona watu wengine wanataka tujibizane... I’m busy... waambiwe hiyo tabia mbaya wakome... hii madharau mingi wajue sisi we are not pushovers... amekutana na watu watano sijui watu ishirini na wanajigamba... sisi we can call thousands of people,” said Kindiki.
Kindiki was speaking after playing host to grassroots leaders from Embu, Meru, and Tharaka Nithi counties, where he dismissed Gachagua’s taunts that he
is a yes-man, urging Kenyans to ignore such leaders.
The DP urged Mt. Kenya region residents to reject attempts by Gachagua to incite them against the government, warning that such actions could isolate the region from ongoing development projects.
"Do not fall for the tricks of the evil-minded
politicians... today, even if I was not the DP, I would support the development
of this region,” he added.
He further assured the people that the government had
secured resources to complete all stalled projects, including roads, markets,
and rural electrification, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to improving
livelihoods.
"I have good news for our people and bad news for
the detractors... the government has managed to get funds to finish all the
projects... kazi sasa imeanza,” Kindiki stated.
Kindiki called on Kenyans to remain focused and rally behind
the government’s development agenda, affirming that tangible progress is
underway.
