If Raila can't control his supporters, he will not escape Hague - Charles Owino
Speaking on Citizen TV's Day Break show, Owino faulted Odinga for allowing his supporters to act violently during protests by blocking roads and hurling stones at the police.
“If you are calling citizens to go out and demonstrate, you must be able to control them. If Raila cannot control his support base and the country breaks into anarchy and violence he will not escape the Hague,” Owino said.
“In 2007, our big brother was lucky he never went to the Hague. It is William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta who went to the Hague and they know what it is,” the former police spokesperson adds.
Owino now wants the former Prime Minister to come out and address his supporters to stop barricading roads and vandalizing properties during the anti-government protests.
“Raila must now come out and tell his supporters to stop blocking the roads using stones and huge bonfires. This is causing inconvenience and terror,” he says.
The ongoing anti-government protests have so far claimed more than 15 lives and left several others nursing gunshot wounds. Properties of unknown value have also been vandalised.
