IEBC official arrested, two flee after being busted at a meeting with candidates

One IEBC official has been arrested, and two others are on the run after they were caught at a meeting with candidates in Webuye East Constituency, Bungoma County. 

Confirming the incident, Bungoma County IEBC Returning Officer Grace Rono assured the public that the officers caught in the election malpractice have been replaced.

In a different incident in Bungoma County, a police officer’s pistol disappeared amid a clash between an MCA aspirant and residents.

An unknown person forcefully took away the pistol belonging to the officer who was trying to rescue Richard Chesome who was being beaten by his opponents.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has condemned the incident urging residents to be more vigilant during this time of election.

The MCA aspirant recorded a statement at Bungoma police station.
