'We will pay you in equal measure,' Ruto tells Mudavadi

DP Ruto, speaking at the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday, said that Mudavadi has shown him 'support and respect' despite being coerced not to and has changed the narrative of forming affiliations on ethnic ties.

“Nimshukuru huyu mungwana Musalia Mudavadi, wakati mambo ni magumu, akiambiwa hawezi simama na sisi, alivunja minyororo ya watesi wetu, akavunja ngome za wale wametekanyara taifa letu la Kenya na akasema atafanya kazi na mkenya yeyote bora wanakubaliana kisera," said Ruto

“I want, with a lot of gratitude, to thank you for making it possible for all Kenyans to work together. I want to tell you on this occasion that we will pay you in equal measure one day. Hiyo heshima umetuonyesha sisi pia tutakuonyesha."

Speaking on his part, Mudavadi congratulated DP Ruto for his endorsement as the UDA flag bearer further assuring that he will mount his support behind the Kenya Kwanza outfit. 

"Ndugu yangu Deputy President nataka niseme hongera, congratulations on your being nominated and elected as the flag bearer of this vibrant party UDA. Your team has done a wonderful job and has stood for Kenyans and with Kenyans," said Mudavadi.

"I stand here to say that we are in solidarity with the decision that has been made by the UDA party in putting their best foot forward as their flag bearer for the position of presidency in the nation of Kenya."

Mudavadi affirmed that they, under the Kenya Kwanza outfit, will utilize the country's resources to benefit the nation terming it as the main objective of the coalition.

"We intend as partners in Kenya Kwanza to make sure that resources in this country shall be utilized as they should be utilized for the benefit of the people of Kenya. Sisi tulikuja pamoja kwa sababu tunataka maisha ya wakenya ibadilike. That is the primary objective of coming together," he said.

DP Ruto was unveiled as the party's leader by the party delegates and flag bearer at the NDC.
