I hold no grudge against anyone; Ndindi Nyoro says on removal from Budget Committee

Former Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair Ndindi Nyoro speaking on Citizen TV's The Explainer Show on May 21, 2024.
Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has addressed his removal from the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee.
Nyoro, who was replaced by Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi, on Tuesday told the press that he does not know what necessitated his removal from the committee as the Kenya Kwanza coalition did not engage him on any talks regarding his position.
“There is no one who has ever called me to say anything about this. I read in newspapers about myself. I also don’t know,” Nyoro said.
After the removal of Nyoro from the budget committee, Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah remarked in Parliament that a number of MPs use their power in committees to favour their constituency.
Allegations were made that Nyoro disproportionately allocated funds to his Kiharu constituency at the expense of others.
“I would not be provoked to answer evil with evil. Neither will I be provoked to answer an insult with insult,” he said in response to the claims made in Parliament.
“I hold no grudge against anyone,” Nyoro added, arguing that no Kenya Kwanza leader engaged him before removal from the committee.
The address by Nyoro follows months of silence from the legislator, who once enjoyed proximity to President William Ruto.
His political silence has been linked to a close relationship with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was ousted in 2024.
