'I am worth Ksh.790M,' Education CS nominee Julius Ogamba tells Parliament

Julius Migos Ogamba has revealed that he is worth Ksh.790 million.
Speaking during his vetting before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Thursday, the Senior Advocate attributed his immense wealth to Agriculture, ownership of land assets, motor vehicles and his law firm business.
He said he owns a tea farm, trees and farm equipment.
“I am worth 790 million made up of largely land,
I have tea, trees, vehicles, farm equipment and of course the income from the
law firm,” he said.
The former Chairperson of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) is an Advocate at Migos
Ogamba & Waudo Advocates, boasting over 25 years in practice.
If confirmed, Ogamba
will replace his predecessor Ezekiel Machogu who served in the Education
docket since 2022.
During his vetting,
Machogu said he had an estimated net worth of Ksh.590 million
accumulated through land acquisitions and ownership of residential buildings and
luxury vehicles.
“I have buildings in Nairobi, three
buildings in Eastlands specifically Jogoo Road, another in Pangani area, an
apartment in Milimani, at Kileleshwa and another near Yaya Centre,"
Machogu said in 2022.
"I also have an apartment in Mombasa,
Shanzu area, at Ngong, a piece of land, rightly a quarter of an acre along
Ngong Road, a plot, not yet built in Kisii town and also have 30 acres of land
in Kisii. I also own
vehicles; a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota V8.”
Ogamba was the running
mate of Machogu during the 2022 Kisii gubernatorial elections.
