Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has responded after a section of opposition political
leaders slammed him for arriving at the Kenya
Kwanza retreat in Naivasha on a Kenya Air Force helicopter.
Sudi,
taking to Twitter, sought to clarify that that was not the first time he was
flying in the government chopper as he is reportedly used to moving around in
it.
“I am used to these government helicopters,” wrote the Kapseret legislator, a close ally of President William Ruto.
Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire backed Sudi as she
laughed off critics, further stating that the MP even flew on the chopper with
former President Uhuru Kenyatta more times than any of his colleagues.
“Actually what they may not know is that you flew with
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta more than any other MP. I just wish to know how
you do that bro,” wrote Mbarire.
These
came after leaders, most notably Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina hit out at him
for what he termed as wasting public resources.
Senator
Ole Kina had earlier on Friday tweeted: “Is this the new Cabinet Secretary
Ministry of Defense? What a waste of public resources…Bottom up my foot!”
