Hundreds displaced in Kibra after river burst its banks

According to the residents, river Ngong', which cuts across the slums burst its banks after heavy rainfall catching them unawares in their homes. 

The residents whose houses are now marooned by floods have been compelled to stay out of the structures.

The flooding has subjected victims into a humanitarian crisis since most of their households items have been swept with the water.

Kibra sub-county deputy commissioner Jacob Odidi has confirmed the flooding incident, urging residents to be vigilant.

They are calling for speedy interventions from the relevant agencies.
