Education CS Ezekiel Machogu

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has released the 2022 KCPE placement results.

Speaking at a press address on Monday, CS Machogu said that all 1,230,588 candidates who undertook the examinations have been appropriately placed in various secondary schools in line with the 100% transition policy.

According to Machogu, the selection process was strictly guided by the principles of merit, choice, equity and availability of space in placing candidates.

He announced that the students were placed in five different categories;

In the 106 National schools across the nation, a total of 38,972 students were placed with 18,794 being female and 20,178 being male. All students who scored 400 marks and above were placed in national schools or extra-county schools of their choice.

In the extra-county schools, 111,105 female students will be admitted alongside 117,055 male students making a total of 228,160 students.

A total of 199,027 students were placed into the county schools with 107,461 of them being female and 91,566 being male.

Sub-county schools will be admitting 762,610 students who are the majority in all categories. Of these 372,459 are female while 387,203 are male.

Special needs schools will also welcome 1,819 students with 871 of them being female and 948 male. They were placed in their schools of choice or based on their disability categories on merit and choice.

Machogu, therefore, said that those who wish to check where the particular schools they have been placed should text the candidate's index number to 22263.

He added that candidates, parents, or guardians can now access joining instructions available online for all categories of schools through the ministry's website www.education.go.ke

Those who might have any queries have been advised to seek assistance by sending an email to placement@education.go.ke.

"Those who may not be satisfied may approach desired schools for assistance."
