House help arrested in Kabarnet after stealing 2-year-old baby in Nakuru
A 17-year-old girl is in custody at Kabarnet
Police Station for allegedly abducting a two-year-old boy from Nakuru.
The girl from Baringo North was working as a
house help for two months and is suspected of stealing Carolyn Kipnaigei's son
who had been missing for two days before she was arrested.
The child's mother said she left for work on
Wednesday morning as was habit and later in the evening, the house girl together
with the baby were missing.
“Niliwaacha saa tatu kwa nyumba vile nimezoea
on Wednesday, around kitu saa kumi na moja napigiwa naulizwa kama najua mahali
walienda juu hakuchukua motto mwengine kutoka shule. Kumpigia simu hakuwa
anachukua, vile tulirudi nyumbani tukaulizia majirani wakatuambia walitoka,”
said Ms. Kipnaigei.
The incident was reported at Workers Police
Patrol Base in Nakuru whereupon officers started tracking the suspect to Eldoret,
before eventually intercepting her in Kabarnet.
Baringo County Police Commandant Julius
Kiragu said: "Waliweza kuona msichana ambaye ni wa miaka kumi na saba akiwa
na mtoto na wakadoubt kwamba huyu mtoto ni wake, ndio wakaweza kutupea
information.”
