Homa Bay: Parents warned of jail time over escalating protests against head teachers

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan has asked parents to desist from protests against school principals and head teachers a trend that has been on the rise this school term.

A number of Secondary and Primary schools in Homa Bay County have experienced demonstrations and protests against head teachers and principals with the parents demanding their transfers.

The protests have been staged by parents who expressed various grievances against the head teachers such as alleged poor performance and mismanagement of school resources.

The County Commissioner has sent a warning to parents who have been staging protests in schools to eject school principals saying going forward they will arrest and prosecute any parents who will be found holding protests in schools.

Addressing the press in his office, Lilan told parents to follow due process when aggrieved with the school heads.
