Homa Bay: Body of 13-year-old boy who drowned on Friday still missing
The family of a
13-year-old boy who drowned in River Oluch in Katonde, Karachuonyo in Homa Bay
County on Friday is appealing to government agencies for help in retrieving their kin's body.
Griffin Ochieng’, a
grade seven pupil at Obujo Primary School drowned in the river while swimming with his friends.
According to his
father, Jared Dondi, they left the boy at home on Friday morning and at
about midday, his friends asked him to accompany them to River Oluch for
swimming.
It was the boy’s first
time to go to the river, the father said.
During the expedition,
the boy drowned in the presence of his friends, who then took his clothes, went
back to their home and reported to his family.
Since Friday, the
deceased family have been camping at the river bank with hopes of retrieving
his body and has now appealed to local divers and government agencies for help.
