‘Heri tutafute mama wa kiosk atuongoze,' DP Ruto says as he attacks Raila
Deputy President William Ruto has slammed his political
rival ODM leader Raila Odinga saying that he is not fit to lead the
country.
While referring to the former premier
as a State project imposed on Kenyans, the deputy president said the handshake that saw Mr. Odinga work closely with the Jubilee Party was an abuse to the party's previous leadership.
Speaking during a tour of Nairobi County on Friday, the DP
censured Odinga over his relationship with the Jubilee government saying that
being an outsider, he (Raila) cannot be their purported option for a leader when the original founders are present.
He instead suggested that they would rather nominate a
local mama mboga to govern them instead of Odinga.
“Kuna watu wanatuambia ati kati yetu watu milioni nane
sisi?” Ruto posed.
The second in command went ahead to bash the Azimio la Umoja
leader downplaying his agenda for the country as inferior compared to that of
his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.
Ruto painted a rosy picture of the current President
Kenyatta’s regime which he said helped form in both 2013 and 2017 and
highlighted its successes in infrastructure.
“Mtu ya kitendawili ambaye hana track record ya kufanya kazi
yoyote, mtu ambaye ya kungoa reli na kuvunja chama yote, mtu ya kujiapisha na
kupiga watu mawe,” said Ruto.
DP Ruto vowed to build a five-storey business apartment
where the residents would be able to conduct their businesses as part of his bottom-up
economic model implementation on Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The DP consequently sold his narrative to the Roysambu residents saying that his government would ensure implementation of the Big 4 agenda incorporated in his Bottom-up strategy while focusing on health insurance and youth empowerment.
He was in the company of former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, aspiring Nairobi governor Margaret Wanjiru, MPs Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Mohammed Ali (Nyali), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), and nominated Senator Milicent Omanga among others.
