Speaking in Meru, KeMU University during the celebrations of International white coat Day for Health Workers, Peterson Wachira, the National chair of all Kenya Health Workers Caucus, said the two individuals were derailing SHA's implementation.
He called for Parliament to impeach the Chair Dr.Abdi Mohamed, and CEO, Mr. Robert Ingasira if the health ministry is unable to replace them.
Wachira added that the two SHA bosses have individually and collectively breached four clauses of the Constitution: Article 43 which declares all Kenyans should have access to health services, Article 26 which delves into discrimination of clinical officers and equally citizens who cannot access the health services at the Hospital and Article 47 on fair administrative procedures and Chapter 6 on Ethics & Integrity.
The health workers lamented that the two bosses ignored the Deputy President's directive that all clinical officers be empaneled to carry procedures through SHA.
The Union pointed out that the directive is yet to be carried out a week later.
At the same time, over 5,000 medical interns lamented the continued delay in the Government posting the interns into the medical internships.
The intern representative to the Union Caucus Jonathan Oriki explained that despite holding protests in Nairobi over the issue, the government has not provided any feedback.
The medical interns lamented that they could not further their education due to the delays in this critical academic requirement.
