Health CS Nakhumicha dismisses reports of new COVID-19 wave

The Ministry of Health has dismissed reports of a new wave of Covid-19 in the country.

In a briefing on Monday evening, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha said the country is experiencing an upsurge of flu due to the cold season.

She has urged members of the public to take precautions against the flu.“From our surveillance, we do not have an upsurge of COVID yet that we can report to the country and tell them to take action,” said the CS.

She added: “However it is only good that we protect ourselves from this flu… We have a flu vaccine that can be given at most medical facilities.”
