Police in Emuhaya, Vihiga County have launched investigations to ascertain the circumstances under which a Grade 7 pupil was discovered dead in a house.

Emuhaya Deputy County Commissioner Chuk Masua says the 18-year-old boy was discovered dead in a neighbour's house in Em'mukunzi area where he used to sleep.

The neighbours who wondered why the door of the house the deceased was living in had not been opened peeped through the window and saw him on the floor before alerting the police.

"Neighbours broke the bedroom window when they discovered the door was still closed from inside and saw the body of the boy on the floor, prompting them to call police," Masua said.

"Police have already taken the corpse to Maseno Mission Hospital Coptic morgue awaiting autopsy as preliminary information revealed that the boy had been heard complaining of pains in the leg," he added.

Masua says detectives are awaiting an autopsy report to aid in the investigation of what would have transpired.
